Structural Retaining Wall & Floating Decking Installation

Project Scope: Garden Transformation for Property Sale
The client had a section of garden with a significant, unsafe drop that made the area entirely unusable. The objective was to stabilise the ground and install a level platform to enhance the property’s overall appeal and market value ahead of a planned sale.
The Build: Overcoming Level Changes with Precision Engineering
The project began with the demolition of a failing retaining wall, which was replaced with a new, structurally sound concrete block retaining wall. To create the level surface, we installed bespoke steel columns to support a floating decking framework.
The subframe was constructed from treated timber, with professional decking tape applied to all joists to prevent moisture ingress and ensure long-term durability. We finished the project by laying premium softwood decking and installing a timber handrail around the perimeter for safety. A key technical challenge was the precision alignment of the supporting columns to ensure a perfectly level finish across the sloping site.
The Result: A Stylish and Functional Outdoor Living Space
The transformation resulted in a safe, stylish and rustic decking area that maximised the garden’s footprint. We provided the client with a high-impact, usable space that significantly increased the property’s aesthetic and functional value.
